Design of Biodiesel Reactor Using Nanocatalyst ZnO From Castor Oil

Mass transfer during the reaction process is limited in industrial biodiesel manufacture. Therefore, to overcome this problem, a reactor from castor oil transesterified using ZnO nanocatalyst was designed. can be used as catalyst for production due nature of which has high catalytic activity, low material costs and environmentally friendly. This study aims design manufacture zinc oxide (ZnO) nanocrystals continuous stirred tank (CSTR) reactor. By giving data on incoming feedstock product flow produced by reactor, mass balance calculations were benchmark determine whether operating appropriately. Additionally, Microsoft Excel, manual done agitator employed According design, volume 1967.78 liters, vessel diameter 44.77 inches, height 19.25 thickness 44.98 inches. The equipped one stirrer with power typical 10 hp motor, turbulent conditions exist.
